Allie is fortunate enough to have made her passion, her career. While still attending high school Allie enrolled in non-credit dental tech courses at the local community college as an extracurricular activity. It was only obvious to continue an accredited curriculum at So. IL University in Carbondale and make dental technology her profession.
After graduating from SIU-C College of Technical Careers with an Associate’s degree in Dental Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Technical Studies, along with RG status with the National Board of Certification in Dental Technology, Allie immediately starting working behind the bench and building her career.
Within a few short years, Allie attained CDT status in Complete Dentures and was in a leadership role. The experience strengthened her skills and opened opportunities to gain further knowledge from some very talented and respected mentors in the dental technology profession.
The passion for her career motivated her to eventually own her own lab. The success of this lab was not exclusively attributed to education and passion; Allie is fortunate to have found a soulmate with the same career interest. Her husband, Mark Williamson, CDT-DTG has been her mentor since the early years of her career and still has an immense influence on her continued development as a certified dental technician and technologist (CDT-TE).
As her career progresses, Allie discovered a natural talent to train technicians. She worked as a full time Technical Education Specialist for labs around the country. The experience as a trainer coupled with decades of experience as a production technician, led Allie to hold a wealth of knowledge to contribute to the profession.
Allie saw the need for training in Dental Technology while recognizing the demands of the profession made it difficult to deliver. Her passion led her to become founder and director of DLT Training & Education, LLC. Her mission is to offer convenient and affordable training in Dental Technology. DLT Training accommodates to individual technicians and/or dental lab schedules without committing to a full-time curriculum or employ a full-time trainer. Allie hopes she can help influence young technicians to take dental technology to an entirely new level.
Alexandra (Allie) Williamson, AAS, BS, CDT-E has been a guest on 2 episodes.
