Leah Gold was born in Ashland, Ohio and grew up with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She graduated with Honors from Shelby High School in 2007. Throughout her high school years she enjoyed being a member of the Symphonic Choir as well as being captain of the Shelby Whippets swim team. After graduation she went on to obtain her dental X-ray license and become a Certified Dental Assistant. Leah carries her Coronal Polishing license in the State of Ohio and is also an Ohio State Board Licensed Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary. She is currently a member of the FDLA and is working as an EFDA/Dental Lab Technician with nearly 18 years experience in the dental field.
Her journey began as a young girl when going to the dentist sparked curiosity. That carried with her into her high school career where in her junior and senior years she attended the Dental Assisting tech prep program. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Pioneer Career and Technology Center in 2007. Along the way she gained valuable experience and pursued additional certifications. In 2015 Leah was recognized at Stark State for the Waybright Clinical Excellence Award during her graduation from the EFDA program.
Leah made a pivotal shift from chairside assisting to benchside lab work in the fall of 2021. Her dental career has spanned from general, pediatric, to cosmetic dentistry. She is currently working alongside a Prosthodontist, Dr. Jay E. Boatwright III DMD, FACP. Her well rounded career experience and also her need for technical precision quickly show why she is a valuable asset to any dental team. Over the last few years she has enjoyed training very closely with her mentor and has honed her skills in the lab setting, completing denture wax-ups, lab repairs/relines using the traditional techniques. She is most recently excited about the transition to digitally designing dentures and what this means for her future in the industry utilizing Exocad Dental CAD software.
She continues to showcase her artistry and eye for detail in the clinical setting with providing patient’s chairside custom shading of their crown and bridge work. Creating smiles and seeing her patients gain their confidence back is something that drives her passion and love for her career.
Leah currently lives in Pensacola, Florida with her son. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, travelling and being in nature, swimming, watching sports/movies, listening to music and reading. More than anything she enjoys spending time with her 13 year old son Mannix and loves watching him play baseball.
