We continue this week to showcase all the wonderful people that were lucky enough to attend the Whip Mix Digital Forum in Louisville, Kentucky last October. This time it's two conversations, each with a past podcast guest that brought a friend. First up is one of the co-founders of Ladies of the Mill and owner of Oak Dental Designs, Jill Swafford. Jill brings along her first employee, Eiron Simmons who joined Jill with zero experience. They talk about working together, moving into the new facility, and what we might see at the next Ladies of the Mill Summit. Then we are joined by Todd Hydock from Zest Dental Solutions. Todd was at the show exhibiting and doing a hands-on course with Dr. Michael Scherer. Dr. Scherer talks about his practice, his love of overdentures, the new Locator Fixed solution, and everyone's favorite shade? Great stuff from Louisville!

Two dynamic teams have joined forces to rock the intraoral scanning world! Whip Mix has added the 3Shape TRIOS® line of scanners to its line of digital solutions for the dental office. Together, this dynamic duo can get your dentists scanning, providing you the reliable scans you need for your lab work.

Back in July, there was a meeting called the Ladies of the Mill Summit. This yearly meeting is all about celebrating and supporting females in the dental laboratory industry. Full of motivating and inspiring speakers, Elvis got to record with a bunch of attendees at the Preat booth. First up is half of the owners of Likelike Dental Studios, Carrie Ling. Carrie talks about getting their lab started in a shed, growing it with her husband, and where they are at now. Then we talk to two technicians from Renstrom Dental Studio, Sandra Nohava and Courtney Bennett. These two talk about the different labs they worked at, the unique way they connected and then connected again at their current lab, and why they came to the Ladies of the Mill Summit. Then Elvis walks away from the recording gear to let 5 technicians have their own conversation. Dani Farago, MacKenzie Mayer, Katie Boteler, Nina Frketin, & Jenelle Tabakovic talk about themselves, the industry, the meeting, and the power of encouraging each other. It’s a ladies takeover of the podcast.

Back out in the world! We are so happy to see dental lab shows start up again because we miss recording face-to-face so much. Elvis was down at the Preat booth at the Florida Dental Laboratory Association symposium last June. While working the booth, Elvis was able to chat with a few attendees. First up is Don Hebert CDT from Phoenix Dental Design talking about opening his own lab after being laid off during COVID. A great “rising from the ashes story”. Then we chat with Ricardo Marrero who is a young enthusiastic laboratory technician that is helping his dad run a satellite lab in North Carolina for a big lab in Florida called GPS Dental Lab. And then, because we love to chat with the incoming president of the FDLA, Dory Sartoris from DCS Dental Lab comes on to talk about how the post-covid show was and what the FDLA is working on to benefit the labs in Florida.

Whip Mix’s new Veriwash resin cleaning station is the ideal piece of equipment to use in the 3D printed resin post process. It’s oscillating, multi-speed stirrer produces a tornado-like vortex every 30-seconds, and guarantees efficient, effective and powerful cleaning whether the units are individual or still attached to the build plate.

The two alcohol baths make an effective step-wash system. It cleans more efficiently and there is less alcohol needed, since it is re-used for both a fresh bath and a dirty bath.

The VeriWash’s intelligent design offers features such as Mode, Time, and Start/Stop button display which gives the operator full and automatic control of the cleaning process. A mesh basket used in the wash container makes it easy to keep track of small printed parts when cleaning. The affordable unit’s one-year warranty ensures peace-of-mind for the owner.

Visit whipmix.com or call (800) 626-5651 for more information about this great new product.
