Meet Jamie Stover. If you spend any time at dental shows or just around the industry in general, you have probably crossed paths with Jamie before. You see, Jamie started in the industry back in 1998 after a suggestion from his dentist brother. After finding his way into a dental lab, Jamie has been a delivery driver, model room technician, ceramist, and so much more. It wasn't long before he was manager and even Operations Manager. While he was moving the lab from analog to digital, Jamie found the Carbon Printer (https://www.carbon3d.com/) and discovered something great. He now works for them as Senior Manager of Application Strategy and Integration. What does that mean? Well, we had to ask too. Turns out Jamie gets to help any lab with a Carbon printer with any question or issue the lab has. Even if it isn't related to the Carbon Printer. How cool is that? He's also the current Chair of The National Board for Certification (https://nbccert.org/homepage.cfm) in Dental Laboratory Technology and talks about the importance of getting your certification and giving back to the industry.
Introducing Ivotion Digital Dentures (https://www.ivoclar.com/en_us/products/digital-processes/ivotion) from Ivoclar (https://www.ivoclar.com/en_us) – Experience unparalleled precision and efficiency with Ivoclar‘s state-of-the-art digital denture workflow.

We talk a lot about Barb and Elvis raising money by participating in the Race For the Future 9.0 on August 27th. This week we brought on 3 wonderful guests to do a deep dive into what the event is, how you can donate, and where the money goes. Joining the conversation is Martha Martin from Triad Dental Studio (https://triaddentalstudio.com/) and the current chair of the Foundation For Dental Laboratory Technology (https://dentallabfoundation.org/). Also joining in on the fun is Nicole Jackson, who also sits on the FDLT board, participates in the race, and runs the dental technician program at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (https://www.matc.edu/course-catalog/manufacturing-construction-transportation/dental-technician.html). And we couldn't talk about any of this without having Lindsey Rowan on who is the executive director of the FDLT and past participant. During the conversation we will break down the days leading up to the race, the race itself, how you can sponsor a team, and all the amazing things the money does to help our industry.

We love learning about the people behind the Instagram accounts. We have been following the adventures of @RVAtoothfairy (https://www.instagram.com/rvatoothfairy/) for a while. There we can see the beautiful full arch zirconia that she obviously puts a lot of work into. But it wasn’t until we talked to her that we learned so much more she has done in our industry. Marithe Baclagon wanted to be a dentist and remembers the exact moment when the laboratory side of it became her passion. After attending a dental technology school and working at a lab, she went back to the school to help develop and create the digital dentistry program. Now she’s at a private practice using all the latest technology and teaching other technicians, dentists, and staff how to produce the best full arch restoration using the best materials.
Are you attending the LMT Lab Day show in Chicago from Feb 23rd-25th (https://lmtmag.com/lmtlabday)? Join Ivoclar (https://www.ivoclar.com/en_us) as they celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary in the dental industry. A feat few have accomplished and it’s all thanks to you! Does your lab use Magic Touch? If not, you should think about switching just so you can use icortica (https://icortica.com/). Icortica is a program that uses all the data you already collect in Magic Touch and puts it in one easy to see, use, and understand dashboard. Look at every account and see trends, sales, notes, payments, and even remake percentages. Use the data you already have to take your lab and your customer service to the next level. Elvis uses it daily and swears it is a huge part to his success working at the lab. Head over to icortica.com/voices (https://icortica.com/voices-from-the-bench/) to learn more or send an email to Rob Nazzal at rob@icortica.com and tell him you heard about it on Voices From the Bench!

Who better to talk about then yourself? For episode 200, Elvis and Barb have turned the microphones on themselves. When asked “who should be on episode 200", multiple people said it was the hosts turn to sit in the hot seat. They asked a very special friend and the creator of the “Fan of Voices From the Bench (https://www.facebook.com/groups/4141108352651184)” Facebook page, Joe Young from Young Dental Laboratory (https://youngdentallab.com/) in Philadelphia to take over host duties. Temporarily. Joe asks the hard-hitting questions like how they got into the industry, how the podcast came to be, and what have Elvis and Barb learned over the last 199 weeks. Don't worry, they didn't learn much.....

Whip Mix (https://www.whipmix.com/)’s new Veriwash (https://www.whipmix.com/products/veriwash/) resin cleaning station is the ideal piece of equipment to use in the 3D printed resin post process. It’s oscillating, multi-speed stirrer produces a tornado-like vortex every 30-seconds, and guarantees efficient, effective and powerful cleaning whether the units are individual or still attached to the build plate.
The two alcohol baths make an effective step-wash system. It cleans more efficiently and there is less alcohol needed, since it is re-used for both a fresh bath and a dirty bath.
The VeriWash’s intelligent design offers features such as Mode, Time, and Start/Stop button display which gives the operator full and automatic control of the cleaning process. A mesh basket used in the wash container makes it easy to keep track of small printed parts when cleaning. The affordable unit’s one-year warranty ensures peace-of-mind for the owner.

The biggest magazine in our industry, LMT (https://lmtmag.com/), did a feature called "40 Under 40" that featured different people in our industry that are making a difference. After seeing a few being congratulated on social media, we reached out to two of them to find out more about their great accomplishments. First up we talk to Julia Izumi from Shanto Dental Ceramics (https://shantodental.com/). Julie has a degree in science and dental technology. After spending many years on the bench, she is now the Production Supervisor for the full service lab in Vancouver. Then we chat with Chris Love from Absolute Dental Services (https://www.absolutedentalservices.com/), who after managing a restaurant, worked his way up from the model room to run the whole removable department that is one of the leading labs in digital dentures.

After seeing a few being congratulated on social media, we reached out to two of them to find out more about their great accomplishments. First up we talk to Julia Izumi from Shanto Dental Ceramics. Julie has a degree in science and dental technology. After spending many years on the bench, she is now the Production Supervisor for the full service lab in Vancouver. Then we chat with Chris Love from Absolute Dental Services, who after managing a restaurant, worked his way up from the model room to run the whole removable department that is one of the leading labs in digital dentures.

A week does not go by that a locator attachment case doesn't come through our labs. And the company behind this wonderful treatment is Zest Dental Solutions. Todd Hydock is new to Zest but comes with a ton of experience. His goal is to bridge the connections between the doctors, the labs, and ultimately the patients. But did you know that Zest Dental Solutions does a lot more than just the locator? This Part 1 interview with Todd is just the beginning to learning more about what Zest has to offer.
