I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. In between doing what average suburban kids do, I spent much of my childhood at the heels of my father who retired from the NYC Police Department after 33 years. My mother, whose roots are in Brooklyn where she met my father, is a retired legal assistant and currently resides in South Florida.

My interest in money and business led me to major in Economics at Cortland College. My interest in financial independence at age 21, (and in following in Dad’s footsteps), led me to a 17 year career with the New York City Police Department.

I retired as a Lieutenant from the NYC Police Department in September 2000. I saw an opportunity to put my financial skills to work and joined an international CPA firm in their accounting practice. In September 2003, I added tax planning services to my practice, and realized that saving clients thousands in tax – and seeing the look of delight on their faces – gave me the same rush as chasing “perps” down the New York City streets.

My practice has evolved over time and now focuses on proactive tax planning, small business accounting, and tax preparation. My most valuable work involves helping client’s spot mistakes and missed opportunities that cost them thousands in tax. I find the prospect of helping clients cut their taxes rewarding, and although hectic at times, it is what I enjoy the most. No two days are alike.

I am also the host of The Progressive Dentist Podcast which helps Dentist’s make and keep more of the money they make.

I am proud to say I have three healthy, kind, and active children, ages 29, 27, and 25 and have been married for 30 years.
